Bred in Australia for controlling cattle they are a medium sized dog standing 17 to 19 inches tall and weighing 35 to 50 pounds. They have very high energy levels and active minds. You should plan on giving them plenty of exercise and providing lots of activities for them such as sports and learning activities. If they become bored or inactive they will find their own destructive activities. They make great guard dogs because they are wary by nature. They will make a great family pet as long as you can keep them active.
