Weighing 25 to 45 pounds and standing 15 to 18 inches tall they are liver, brown or chocolate in color. They have a thick coat to protect them from cold temperatures. They are friendly, intelligent and willing to please by hunting birds, fur and fish. Known to be very protective of its owner they will be very attached to the alpha of the house and make excellent family companions. As with most dogs regular exercise will keep them happy and healthy for a long time.
